RHOMA Statement on the letter signed by 59 former Canadian diplomats on the situation in the Middle East
June 3, 2020 – Ottawa, Canada
The Retired Heads of Mission Association (RHOMA) today issued the following statement:
On behalf of its nearly 400 members across Canada, the Retired Heads of Mission Association (RHOMA), which is comprised of former Canadian Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Consuls General, wishes to express its support for the letter signed by 59 former Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Canada and former Ambassadors and senior diplomats.
RHOMA was pleased that in response to a reporter’s question, the Prime Minister reiterated both Canada’s opposition to any annexation by Israel and its strong support for a negotiated two state solution. A copy of the letter, in both official languages, is attached here, along with the list of signatories, many of whom are members of our Association.
