Diplomatic Appointments

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced diplomatic appointments:
Mark Allen becomes Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic. Mr. Allen replaces Keith Morrill.
Richard Arbeiter becomes Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, in New York City. Mr. Arbeiter replaces Michael Grant.
Antoine Chevrier becomes Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Djibouti and Permanent Observer to the African Union. Mr. Chevrier replaces Philip Baker.
James Christoff becomes Ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan. Mr. Christoff replaces Alan Hamson.
Micheal Danagher becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. Mr. Danagher replaces Eric Walsh.
Louis-Pierre Émond becomes Ambassador to the State of Kuwait. Mr. Émond replaces Martine Moreau.
Paul Gibbard becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq. This is Canada’s first resident Ambassador to Iraq since 1991.
Stefanie McCollum becomes Ambassador to the State of Qatar. Ms. McCollum replaces Adrian Norfolk.
David Metcalfe becomes Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Mr. Metcalfe replaces François Rivest.
Lilly Nicholls becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Panama. Ms. Nicholls replaces Anna-Karine Asselin.
Kevin Rex becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Latvia. Mr. Rex replaces Alain Hausser.
Lisa Rice Madan becomes Ambassador to the Portuguese Republic. Ms. Rice Madan replaces Jeffrey Marder.
Leslie Scanlon becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Poland. Ms. Scanlon replaces Stephen de Boer.
Lisa Stadelbauer becomes High Commissioner in the Republic of Kenya and Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme and to the United Nations Environment Programme. Ms. Stadelbauer replaces Sara Hradecky.
